Orthotic Solutions QLD is a family owned and operated allied health practice that has built a reputation around professionalism, clinical expertise and exceptional products and services.

 

Meet Our Staff

 

The clinicians at Orthotic Solutions Qld are degree qualified Orthostists/Prosthetists with a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of the human body.

 

All of our Orthotists are members of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association.

 

Our knowledge enables us to assess, prescribe, manufacture and fit a complete range of medical devices. Through ongoing technical training and continued professional development, we offer the most up to date and appropriate care to our patients.

Clint Nielsen - Orthotist/Prosthetist

Clint was born in Brisbane and was educated at St Josephs College Nudgee. Clint is the principle clinician at Orthotic Solutions Qld Pty Ltd. Clint holds a Bachelor Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from La Trobe University in Victoria.

 

Clint is a Certified Full Member with the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and a member of the Australian Medical Grade Footwear Association (AMGFA) as well as the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO).

 

Clint has a special interest in Clinical Gait Analysis and complex lower limb Orthotic management with clinical experience and expertise in the areas of Stroke (CVA), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Post-Polio Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Spinal Cord Injuries.

 

Clint’s previous clinical experience includes private and public positions, and a clinical position for the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service and the Queensland Cerebral Palsy Health Service at the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane.

 

Clint enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in private practice with his wife Bianca.
When not at work, Clint enjoys being with his family, watching his children’s sporting activities and riding motor cross.

Bianca Nielsen - Orthotist/Prosthetist

Bianca was born in Melbourne and was educated at Ivanhoe Grammar School in Victoria. Bianca continued her education at La Trobe University in Melbourne where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Bianca is a Certified member with the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA), and actively partakes in continued professional development.

 

Bianca moved to Queensland in 2004, where she gained clinical experience in a broad range of paediatric, orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions. Bianca then joined her husband Clint in private practice, establishing Orthotic Solutions Qld Pty Ltd in 2006.

 

Bianca has a special interest in prosthetics, scoliosis and working with children with Cerebral Palsy, Plagiocephaly and Developmental Delay.

 

Bianca enjoys providing clinical services to clients requiring the HartWalker mobility device.

 

Bianca juggles her career as an Orthotist/Prosthetist with a busy family life. She enjoys being involved with her children’s sporting activities and loves being in the garden when she has a spare moment.

Marc Spence - Orthotist/Prosthetist

After growing up in Melbourne and completing a Masters in Prosthetic and Orthotics in 2012, Marc moved to the Northern Territory and worked at the Royal Darwin Hospital. This experience offered Marc the opportunity to provide services to a variety of outreach clinics throughout the Northern Territory which included working within Katherine and Alice Springs Hospitals.

 

Marc relocated to Brisbane in 2015, where he took on a key role as a Prosthetist in the Company. Marc provides a diverse range of prosthetic services.

 

Recent career highlights include travelling to the Ukraine to assist in training Prosthetist’s in sports & high activity prostheses for war veterans and complex clients and assisting para-athletes at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

 

Marc is experienced in upper limb myoelectric and lower limb mechatronic components, including but not limited to running blades and high-end knees.

 

Marc is a member of the Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA).

Tess Torr - Orthotist/Prosthetist

Tess grew up in Melbourne where she went to school at Presentation College, Windsor. She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences, and a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics from La Trobe University, Melbourne. Tess is a certified member of the Australian Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and participates in associated professional development.

 

Tess relocated to Brisbane in 2015, where she gained valuable clinical experience in the public health system. She then joined our team in 2017. Tess enjoys all aspects of orthotics and prosthetics, with an added focus on paediatrics.

 

In her spare time, Tess enjoys playing hockey and volleyball.

Hannah Graham - Orthotist/Prosthetist

Hannah was born in Warrnambool in Southwest Victoria and attended school at Warrnambool College before moving to Melbourne to study Prosthetics and Orthotics. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science with a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotic from La Trobe University.

 

Hannah relocated to Brisbane in 2015 to work with our team. She enjoys working with her paediatric clients and has a keen interest in complex neuromuscular orthotics.

 

Hannah is a certified member of Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and is also the Queensland State Education Representative for AOPA.

 

Hannah enjoys going to the beach and playing netball in her spare time.

Rachel Pola - Orthotist/Prosthetist

Rachel was born in Warrnambool, in South West Victoria. She graduated from Warrnambool College in 2009, and then continued her study at University. Before studying in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics, Rachel completed the first two years of an Occupational Therapy Degree. A clinical placement that exposed Rachel to the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics motivated a transfer into this field.

 

Rachel holds a Bachelor Degree in Health Science and a Masters Degree in Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics from La Trobe University in Melbourne. She is also a member of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA).

 

Rachel relocated to Brisbane in 2017 and gained clinical orthotic experience in a public health setting whilst working at the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

 

Rachel started working at Orthotic Solutions in March 2018, where she enjoys working with a diverse case-load.

 

Rachel has a keen interest in horse racing and worked with Victoria’s top race horse trainer whilst studying at university. Rachel spends most of her spare time with her own horse, Merlin.

Kathy Nielsen - Practice Manager

Kathy joined Orthotic Solutions Qld in 2008. She developed and implemented a number of integral processes and systems relevant to the day-to-day running of Orthotic Solutions Qld.

 

Kathy has an extensive background in administration and qualifications in Financial Planning.

 

Kathy oversees the administrative side of the business and looks after the business accounts; quotation assistance and is currently assisting with the implantation of systems and processes for NDIS.

Christine - Administration

Originally joining Orthotic Solutions in 2009 as a Technician, Christine crafted custom made Orthoses for 4 years.

 

When the OSQ Head Office relocated to Chermside in 2013, Christine’s role developed into an administrative role. Christine is responsible for appointment scheduling and supports the Clinical, Technical and Administrative teams. She enjoys the challenge of this busy role.

Andrea - Administration

Andrea joined Orthotic Solutions Qld in 2011. Andrea provides administration and reception assistance.

 

Andrea has a background in administration and in her role, she provides secretarial services to the clinicians, appointment scheduling and patient invoicing.

Rochelle - Receptionist

Rochelle joined Orthotic Solutions Qld as our receptionist in 2017. Rochelle is responsible for meeting and greeting clients, scheduling appointments, patient invoicing and general office duties.

 

Rochelle has extensive experience in customer service and is always happy to help with any needs you may have.

 

When not at work Rochelle enjoys spending time with family and friends and reading a good book.
