Diagnostic Testing

 

Diagnostic Testing involves the use of temporary walking casts, joint control devices, or stance control systems to determine the effectiveness of assistive walking devices such as AFOs, Knee Orthoses and Stance control KAFOs.

 

Diagnostic Testing is an important tool for complex neuromuscular clients, as it measures the effectiveness of an assistive walking device, and also helps our clinicians determine the specific alignment, function and design characteristics the definitive device.

 

Our Diagnostic Testing procedures can be performed in the safety of parallel bars, with a waking frame or aid, and if required, in the presence of your therapist.

 

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

The strength, appearance, and energy storage capabilities of Carbon Fibre Technology are utilised within our clinic. We have to facilities to prescribe prefabricated and manufacture custom-made laminated Carbon Fibre AFOs, Knee Braces and KAFOs.

 

Traditional Metal and Plastic Devices

 

We understand that many of our clients still enjoy the benefits of traditionally designed Braces and Orthoses. Our Staff have skills and experience in metal and leatherwork to fabricate traditional leg Irons and Calipers with the attention to fit, function and craftsmanship that these designs warrant.

 

The use of light weight plastic technology, and hybrid designs are utilised daily within our clinic for clients with neuromuscular disorders.
